Clinical Bi-Polar Depression

Sex:               Female

Age:               32

Frequency:    weekly / bi-weekly

Case History

Sarah has been under the care of a Psychiatric Dept for treatment of Clinical Depression since March 2001 - (depression started when 9 years old, but most debilitating for the last 4 years). Over the last 4 years she has received 4 other types of treatment - in each case she made rapid improvements and similarly just as quickly she sank back into depression. 7 years on antidepressants and was too ill to receive occupational therapy. Came off anti-depressants Feb 04, diagnosed in March 04 with 'Bi-Polar Depression - periods of elation, then longer periods of depression. Homeopath/Kinesiologist thought she might have had glandular fever when younger.

Unable to work or study since 2000, lives a reclusive life at home with partner, no social life. She is well educated having graduated from University with a Degree.

Symptoms

At heart of depression driving her demented, depression is constant, life is mundane, dizziness, gloom, lack of concentration, constantly feeling ill, low self esteem, short term memory, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), loss of IQ, numbness of emotions, weeziness, physically debilitated over last 4 years.

Suicide attempts

Took overdose in October 2003 with antidepressants, may have caused damage - hospitalised. Previously, nearly threw herself under train and cut wrists. Constantly has suicidal thoughts and regularly goes on double-decker buses looking for vantage points to jump from.

Feedback to Bio-energy Healing treatment

Sarah's case demonstrates the dynamic aspect to the scanning technique of Bio-energy Healing treatment. As you will note the consistent improvement defines her rehabilitation this time from past attempts using other forms of treatment. By not addressing her issues and symptoms on a cognitive level and not determining the pace of work based on each symptom or a structured text book approach has enabled her system to shift at the pace that she requires and at the pace she can handle.

The following is an example of such a shift:

Sarah had made a suicide attempt the year before starting treatment. On her 4th treatment she was asked if she had any feedback from the previous session.

Her answer was ‘NO’. Half-way through the session she turned round and said

“There was something small i forgot to mention. I usually travel around London on double-decker buses. I normally sit up top so that I can look for vantage points on tall buildings to jump from. But this week it has stopped”.

What was transpiring about this episode was:

  1. Prior to this session she hadn’t revealed her suicidal tendencies on buses.

  2. At the time she perceived it as very small and she very nearly didn't mention it. Naturally from a practitioners point of view this was a huge shift.

  3. She made the shift without going down a cognitive route, and analysing the past or underlining reason.

  4. She never had any further suicidal tendencies.

  5. This shift in her perception happened when it was ready to happen.

Two months later Michael reminded Sarah of her 4th session and she just laughed. Firstly, she could not believe she was having these suicidal tendencies and secondly how she perceived what she was doing was so small that she nearly forgot to feed it back.

This is an example of how distorted a persons perception can be and similarly how easily a client can gain a shift in their perception and move beyond.

Sarah has made huge improvements with her general perception, ability to adapt, focus, energy levels, confidence and instinctual awareness.

Sarah now has a social life, focusing on training for a new career as a Qualified Massage Therapist, commenced a one-year Anatomy, Physiology and Massage Course (currently achieving 100% in tests), has improved family life and relationship, optimistic outlook, she is aware that she still has further to go however is very confident about direction. No suicidal thoughts since 5th session.

Feedback

3

Last 2 weeks suicide feelings are less - usually they are there all the time - recurrent thoughts. Last year did act on them once.

4

Glimpse of IQ coming back.

Memory improving & problem solving increasing

Confidence -more able to speak to people in gym

Coping mechanism slotting in

May contemplate going to friend’s birthday - first social event this year.

Has been telephoning people (hasn't been bothered to in past) people have said she sounds better.

Feels more hopeful and chatty.

Brain slipping into gear, now feels on 1st step of ladder to recovery.

Boyfriend noticed she is more active, going out and less sad.

No longer pre-occupied with suicide, used to scan buildings from double-decker buses.

5

Dizziness & tinnitus still there but not bothering her so much.

Friends say she looks better.

Is cautious about rehabilitation as been there 4 times, although this time in a more controlled way.

Not as bored, feels like been plugged in and warming up.

Processing info and having conversations.

Boyfriend said it's like having her back.

Went to party!!! in Soho for 5 hours, great success, really pleased with herself, enjoyed it.

6

Did 10.30am aerobics class this morning which she never has been able to do before.

Has 4 social arrangements over next few days, feels confident and looking forward to.

Boyfriend says she is smiling more (real), confident and more sociable.

7

People have said that energy she gives off is better.

Posture is less hunched.

Went to Blackpool for large family gathering, totally interactive, family all felt she had made major improvements. Things continuing to improve.

Aware of pace of rehabilitation, is in more control as far as steady improvement.

Naturally feels a world better than before however can get a bit irritable, recovery better, coping mechanism improved.

Can get out of bed and it feels natural to get up.

8

Feels ok (it's amazing for her to say it). Slow gradual improvements.

9

She seems calmer, relaxed and more centered.

10

Generally good, today tired not much sleep & hay fever congestion - itchy eyes.

This recovery feels slower, more balanced and more real than previous attempts.

Has possible plan to do Anatomy & Physiology in Sept.

11

Continuing in the same way (enjoying every minute) feels can start to make plans for future (being cautious).

Time keeping/allocation is improving.

Will see psychiatric consultant on 5 Aug for update and check medication, will have quarterly blood check for any side effects.

12

Been away for 2 weeks - balanced, sense of well-being, depression feels like a feeling of past.

Mood - remained stable.

13

Emotionally grounded and balanced - (this is very different to previous attempts)

Psychiatric depart will discharge her in 3 months if okay at next assessment.

Enrolling at college on 3rd August.

Most sensible and relaxed she has been in years.

Posture seems more upright.

Consistent improvement.

Confidence and self-esteem has been nice and continuously improving.

Family gave her the responsibility to bring 7-year-old niece to London.

Clarity - she has never experienced this before.

14

Everyone comments that her rehabilitation is different this time.

Enrolled on Anatomy, Physiology & Massage course - starts in 4 week for 1 year.

15

Time keeping excellent

Started college had to be up at 7am and 3 buses arrived 5 minutes early. Normally doesn't get up till late morning.

Looks really good, confident, relaxed, she thought the same.

Confidence consistent and gradual improvement.

College – felt good to be there, felt confident, outgoing, people naturally gravitated to her, other people more anxious than her.

First Autumn she has been able to enjoy in 2 years, favourite season, new start.

16

Saw University friends from 10 years ago. She thought she had low esteem but friend thought otherwise. She realised that her perception was distorted, which boosted her.

17

Looks well, feels well.

Voted class rep at college. And got 100% in first 2 tests.

Doing a small live musical performance at Christmas.

Worried about being discharged and cutting medication because of past experiences. If they say it is safe she will reduce.

Lovely to enjoy life. First Autumn in 2 years being able to enjoy.

Time keeping much better.

18

Studying well but can’t develop routine.

Psychiatric Consultant should be discharging her

Really pleased that her mood,  has remained balanced

Feels grounded.

19

Music reactivated

Anatomy & Physiology - 100% in tests

20

Had a good Christmas – First well one in 3 years.

Got 1st assignment back from college – excellent result.

Loving being a student.

Bioenergy Treatment Techniques

Bioenergy Healing Treatment techniques consist of hands-on and hands-off techniques that works with the body's electromagnetic fields, connective pathways and neurological circuitry.

These techniques have been proven to have a profound affect on the body's biological systems, which can jump-start the body's innate self-healing and performance mechanisms.

Bioenergy Healing techniques include: scanning: Bio Neuro Manipulation 'BNM' techniques using mild manipulation; Bio Defrag Technique 'BDT'  and Applied Memory Release Technique 'AMRT' to stretch the energy.

Working on the deep circuitry level can address the body on a:

Psychological / Emotional level - enhancing neuron communication (re-wiring) of the brain - bringing about increased/enhanced shift in: perception, balance, order, rationale, coping mechanism, non-dependency, endurance, confidence, positive mental attitude, clarity, focus, ability to adapt (without compromise), instinctual awareness, learning / development skills and survival skills.

…without having to go down the cognitive route to: analyse the past or work out how and when to make a shift.

Research at the BHR Foundation have shown that these techniques have lead to an extraordinary high level of results where client's have experienced a heightened level of: rehabilitation, development and enhanced performance.

Most importantly it has positively influenced the client’s whole body metabolism, culminating in the client being able to explore their full human potential to function in a balanced way - effectively, efficiently and preventatively.
